The Personal Development Model

I. Desire

The Psychology on Motivation and Behavior.

The psychological component of the Personal Development Model (PDM) focuses on the operation of identity and desire (dream Life). When we understand how we operate, we can confidently unleash our identities and harness our potential.

Under the hood of the PDM, are key psychological theories which have propelled our understanding of the human experience.

Dr. Abraham Maslow's, The Theory of Human Motivation, 1943, suggested that motivation is hierarchical and dependent on the fulfillment of a certain level of needs. For instance, the motivation to seek love and belonging will only be present if our basic level needs are met: like food, water, shelter and security. By understanding motivation in this way, we start developing a baseline level of self-awareness needed to build our lives into fulfillment, into a self-actualized state of being.

Another paramount theory that helps us develop self-awareness, was presented by Dr. Sigmund Frued, who presented the Topography of Mind. Freud presented a model which essentially outlines how the conscious and sub-conscious mind relate.

If you think back to your memories and experiences in life, which are stored in the subconscious mind, how you relate to your past experiences essentially dictates how you behave and operate today.

Striving for Maslow's higher ‚Äútiers of awareness" as I like to put it,

self-actualization encourages us to start detaching from things which restrict our potential; a fundamental process of personal development.

Using the PDM, you'll learn how to effectively and easily evaluate and reflect, as you start by developing a list of misery, bliss and gratitude. As your self-awareness increases, you begin planning how to navigate your life toward complete fulfillment.

II. Management

The Principles of Marketing: Analysis, Measurement and Planning.

Once awareness strengthens you can successfully navigate your life into whichever direction you desire, by applying the same management tools which turn small enterprises into large profitable corporations. From effective evaluation and reflection, through to setting goals, objectives and life missions, marketing lends the tools to help you build your dream life.

PR Smith's SOSTAC model raises 6 fundamental questions to help business develop and grow, when turned onto your life, you gain insight into how to develop and grow. A proven process of analysis, measurement and planning sewn into the personal development model, means you'll learn how to successfully navigate your life into fulfillment.

III. Awareness

Just as the universe demands balance to in order to exist and function, so does your mind and your body. To ensure healthy development, you must ensure that you are present and aware of your conscious experience, and maintain balance throughout your life.

Incorporating the lessons derived from the science of yoga and meditation, you'll learn to prioritize your development as you navigate your way up toward your "dream life."

The PDM first works to restore mental balance by having you focus on reducing misery in your life. Then, the next phase of development looks at restoring mental and physical balance, by increasing bliss and navigating your senses and the physical body to blissful experiences. The final phase of development aims to restore inner harmony and spiritual balance, by strengthening and focusing on gratitude.
